Vision

The Regenerative Farming Network wants farming in Scotland to be part of the solution to the climate, nature and public health crises. We want farming to be profitable, sustainable, resilient and nature friendly.

Aims

  • Share and disseminate information about agroecological, sustainable, regenerative, holistic and nature friendly farming
  • Create and facilitate opportunities for farmers to share knowledge and learn from each other through regional clusters
  • Grow a connected community of farmers and landworkers who support each other to make changes on their farms
  • Be an open and welcoming space for farmers and landworkers with different views and perspectives
  • Actively engage with and respond critically to changing policy both regionally and nationally
  • Be transparent and accountable, and representative of members of the network
  • Work collaboratively with other groups and organisations who have similar visions and aims
  • To apply our work in the task of building a sustainable, just and socially responsible food system.

Farm Walks

Our next Farm Walk is on Friday 21 February to Brodoclea Woodland Farm in North Ayrshire. David Carruth is the farm manager at Brodoclea. He says: "Our Brodoclea Woodland Farm covers 174ha and is home to our woolly pigs, our ecological restoration engineers. Brodoclea is a rich tapestry weaving together the heritage of those who have farmed the land for centuries and the needs of the wildlife that calls this hillside its home." This Farm Walk is aimed at farmers in Renfrewshire and East Ren as part of the local Farm Cluster Activity.

Conference: Farming for the Future

In November 2024 we held another excellent conference, co-organised with NFU Scotland and Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere.

Farming for Future: Planning for Profit and Nature explored how farming can be good for both the environment and the farm business.

We were joined by a host of speakers who covered everything from upland sheep to organic dairy, biodiversity to a deep dive into soil health.

Soil Health Group

Our Soil Health Group is for Farmers in South West Scotland who want to take a deeper dive into creating healthy living soils on their farms.

We have a focus on the 'underground livestock' and how this supports plant health, animal health, biodiversity and carbon sequestration.

Voices of Farmers

Listen to audio recordings from farmers telling their own stories about living and working on the land.

We hear from Irene, Naomi, Neil, Ruth and Heather - all members of the RegenFarm Network, and all working hard to produce food profitably and in harmony with nature.

Share an Acre

Share an acre is for farmers and landowners who are willing to 'share an acre' (or more!) with a market gardener or vegetable producer.

This is our response to getting more vegetables produced for local retail in Dumfries and Galloway. We need more veg production for diversity, resilience and health!
